Our Mission
“Love your neighbor as yourself.” - Luke 10:27
Just as God reaches out to us and instructs us to love our neighbors as ourselves, we also reach out to others to make Him known and fulfill this commission given to us in Luke 10. God’s calling inspires us to see that every person is our neighbor, deserving of our love, compassion, and mercy. At the Good Samaritan Service Project, we are committed to be neighbors in action, working to spread the gospel, delivering essential resources and hands-on support, and providing access to programs that go beyond addressing a singular need by creating wholeness in the communities we serve.
“Hands to Serve. Hearts to Love.”
Why do we do it?
We understand that at the heart of extreme, relative, and generational poverty, are a combination of interconnected factors that create barriers to upward mobility. What this means is that for most, if not, all of these individuals, money will not completely resolve the problem.
Research shows that most people struggling with at least some form of poverty or adequate resources, remain in cycles of poverty due to:
Lack of employment opportunities;
Lack of access or income to afford a quality education;
Lack of access to adequate healthcare or an inability to afford medical intervention that is necessary to manage chronic illnesses;
Inadequate, inconsistent, or no housing; and
Other environmental, social, and cultural factors affecting an individual’s psychological beliefs, mental health, or ability to obtain resources
Primary Contributing Factors to Poverty
At The Good Samaritan Service Project, we are driven by more than our passions. We’ve done the research and know that it takes more than money to change a person’s life. We serve because we are called. We give because He first gave to us. And we build because we believe that in every act of compassion and service, we reflect the Kingdom of God on Earth.
We know that this world is far from perfect, but that will not stop us from pursuing God’s design - a world where every individual has the opportunity to thrive, regardless of their background or circumstances. Our mission is to ignite lasting change in underserved communities by directly providing critical funding, essential resources, and hands-on support to address urgent needs and long-term challenges.
We recognize that no single organization can solve complex systemic issues alone. In fact, we believe that there is more power in the collective impact of organizations and individuals working together for one purpose. For this reason, we actively and nurture strategic partnerships with trusted organizations that specialize in housing, healthcare, employment, financial, and counseling services. Together, we create a comprehensive network of care and opportunity that empowers and enables individuals to overcome barriers, reclaim their lives, and build brighter futures.
Rooted in faith, driven by compassion, and committed to sustainable impact, we aim not only to alleviate immediate hardships—but to transform communities from the inside out.
In one word, our mission is to create wholeness.
So what does it mean to be made “whole”?
At the heart of our work is a simple but powerful command from Scripture:
“Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength and with all your mind; and, Love your neighbor as yourself.” — Luke 10:27 (NIV)
Hands to Serve, Hearts to Love
Moved by Mercy. Guided by Faith.
is tagline reflects the core of our mission: a compassionate response to human need that flows naturally from our faith in God. We are moved by mercy, just as the Good Samaritan was deeply moved when he saw someone in desperate need. This mercy compels us to act with kindness, empathy, and urgency—crossing social, economic, and cultural boundaries to bring relief and hope.
At the same time, we are guided by faith—trusting in God’s direction and wisdom as we serve. Our faith sustains and inspires us, ensuring that our efforts go beyond temporary relief to foster lasting transformation. Luke 10 teaches us that true neighborly love is not passive; it requires intentional action grounded in spiritual conviction.
Together, being moved by mercy and guided by faith, we commit to serving underserved communities with a heart that reflects Christ’s love and a vision anchored in God’s promise of justice and restoration.
n Luke 10, Jesus tells the story of the Good Samaritan—a powerful reminder that mercy calls us beyond comfort zones to meet others in their greatest need. The Samaritan didn’t hesitate; his heart was moved by compassion, and his hands took action. This story challenges us to see every person as our neighbor, deserving of love and care.
Being moved by mercy means allowing our hearts to break open to the suffering around us, to feel their pain deeply enough to respond. But mercy alone is not enough. We need to be guided by faith—trusting God’s wisdom to lead our steps, giving us strength and perseverance when the work feels overwhelming.
Our faith roots our mercy in hope and purpose. It reminds us that every act of kindness participates in God’s greater plan for justice and restoration. As we serve, we do not walk alone; we are accompanied by the Spirit, empowered to bring healing and transformation.
Today, we are invited to listen for God’s call—to be neighbors in action, moved by mercy and guided by faith, carrying the love of Christ into the world.
This tagline captures the heart of our mission, rooted in the greatest commandments Jesus taught: to love God fully and to love our neighbors as ourselves. Being compelled by love means that our work is motivated by a deep, active compassion that moves us to serve others selflessly. At the same time, we are guided by faith, trusting in God’s wisdom and strength to lead us in building meaningful partnerships and delivering resources where they are needed most.
Luke 10 reminds us that loving our neighbor is not just a feeling—it’s a call to action. Like the Good Samaritan, we are called to cross barriers, to extend mercy to those in need, and to embody Christ’s love in tangible ways. Our faith shapes every step we take, ensuring that our service is grounded in hope, humility, and a commitment to justice.
Together, being compelled by love and guided by faith, we work to bring healing, opportunity, and dignity to underserved communities.
